Seminar-Workshop on Structural Consolidation of Historical Monuments: Case Study of San Jerónimo

The objective of the seminar was to understand structural and geotechnical procedures, with the aim of preserving this knowledge among local specialists to address the various structural needs of the state’s historical monuments.

Within the San Jerónimo Temple restoration project, the need arose to consult with specialists in historical structures and geotechnics. Master Roberto Sánchez is a specialist in historical monuments and has worked alongside Engineer Víctor Hernández. There are few professionals in the country qualified to address this type of building. Therefore, their involvement in San Jerónimo was used to train local professionals, providing knowledge in geotechnical studies both in the field and in the laboratory, in collaboration with the UACH Faculty of Engineering.
