Santuario de Guadalupe
Santuario de Guadalupe

The Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the 17th-century Mission of Santa Rosa de Lima, both located in Cusihuiriachi, Municipality of Cusihuiriachi, in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico, were founded by the Missionaries of the Society of Jesus, known as the Jesuit Order. Throughout much of the territory of Chihuahua, they carried out their pastoral evangelization work by building missions, convents, churches, sanctuaries, and evangelization centers.
On April 10, 1921, with Mr. Don Pedro I. Chacón serving as municipal president of Cusihuiriachi, the reconstruction and expansion of the original Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe began. This historic architectural work, which has been preserved, holds invaluable significance, making its restoration highly valued by the local community, as well as by natives and visitors who regularly frequent the town of Cusihuiriachi, Chihuahua.
Upon completion of the restoration, it will be opened for Eucharistic Celebrations, prayer, and general visits. All of this serves as an additional catalyst for strengthening our own cultural identity.

During 2010, they undertook, together with the current Municipal Presidency, the task of gathering resources to carry out a restoration project for this important building, at least addressing the most serious problems and halting the ongoing deterioration, with the commitment to continue working toward eventually completing a full and comprehensive restoration.
Some features of this building indicate that, for unknown reasons, its construction was never fully completed.
Since it does not have a regular use, it shows some signs of abandonment and lack of maintenance, such as dirt and accumulated debris, especially in the areas surrounding the rear of the presbytery.
In addition, the presence of broken windows and the lack of protective mesh allow birds, mainly pigeons, to enter and build their nests inside the temple.
INVERSION $115,000.00 MXN
PHASE I
